joemx316 I love Dark Night, and this is my personal all time favorite album of theirs. Start to finish, it's a classic. Favorite track: Night Of Sabbath.

Matthew Smith The second album by Dark Night, remastered and reissued! The first thing to note here is that the remastering job has worked wonders for the overall sound quality of the music. It sounds thicker, richer, and fuller than it did in it's previous incarnation. Also, the new cover art is killer, and does an amazing job of visually illustrating the gothic vibe of the album. Stylistically, this music stands very much at the crossroads where heavy metal and gothic rock collide. Fans of classic Mercyful Fate and King Diamond albums such as In the Shadows, Don't Break the Oath, and Abigail will understand quite well the musical aspirations on display here. The lyrics use imagery from horror literature and films to convey messages of hope and redemption. As ironic as that may seem, it actually works quite well. Especially when you consider the fact that the horror genre is probably the most capable, yet most untapped method for telling stories which reveal the spiritual reality of that which lurks behind the mask of the mundane. It is for that reason that Dark Night is such a brilliant band.
Since this is second Dark Night reissue to come out in less than a month, I'm really hoping this means the rest of their back catalogue is soon to be reissued as well. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Favorite track: Cemetery Night.
